Everyone’s behavior it primarily determined by their genetics and early childhood experiences - of which they chose neither. I try to have compassion and understanding for people of all views and actions.

You guys caught this too, right?

“Donald J. Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.” ███████ noted some girl with a funny name “took me into a fancy hotel or building, that’s how it happened.”

Also this: she was advised to call the police. But she replied, “I can’t, they will kill me.”

I cannot stand all the talk about how fantastic AI is when it does nothing to enhance the human experience (ok, almost nothing) while burning up energy we can’t afford to waste. When we go so far that we have an extinction date for humans are you going to be glad you used AI to write your emails?

I have taken to falling asleep to uplifting audiobooks. It’s either that or falling asleep thinking about how we’re all going to die from climate disruption because we have to fight authoritarianism first. And the same people are driving both catastrophes. I worry that it is already too late.

From the smoke-choked June 11 protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Spokane to the packed parks and sidewalks at multiple No Kings protests, 2025 has been filled with people exercising their right to protest the US government. Local Flock cameras were used to surveil these protests.
Protested this year? Cops might’ve looked for you on Flock cams. – RANGE Media
Newly obtained records show that the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office made 24 searches across thousands of cameras for cars at protests.

Boycott Starbucks
Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

"Western civilization," the font, the 11 stars - 11 states in the confederacy, for the record.

Why is this never news? Why are we letting our government agencies do this sort of thing while the news agencies report on hallucinated trade deals and act like everything is normal

I have an acquaintance who is well connected. He doesn’t know the super rich, rather some of the wealthiest in our area. The more stories he shares about his ‘friends’, the more I am convinced that they think the best financial decision is the same as the best ethical decision.

Some news: tomorrow at 9am, Ted Koppel + CBS Sunday Morning will air a two-part story on the devastating surge of full-time workers being pushed into homelessness.

I'll be interviewed along with two families from There Is No Place for Us. It would mean a lot if you'd watch and help spread the word.

Don't cross a picket line.
BREAKING: After months of stonewalling by Starbucks, unionized baristas just voted 92% to authorize a ULP strike unless Starbucks finalizes fair contracts & stops union busting.

If forced, our baristas will strike in dozens of cities on November 13 – the company's busiest sales day of the year.
Starbucks unionized workers say they'll strike on Nov. 13 if coffee giant doesn't finalize contract
Union members say they are ready to strike on the chain's Red Cup Day if Starbucks doesn't finalize a contract with their union by then.

This is the way
"According to the CGIL union, 300,000 people marched through the streets of Rome alone, while the national average participation in the general strike stood at around 60%, halting all the main services in key sectors including transportation and schools."
Over 2 million people across Italy have rallied in more than 100 cities for a one-day general strike.

This was a national scandal the last time it happened in Portland. Will it even make the news tomorrow?
Masked federal agents dressed like they are deploying to Desert Storm abducted someone tonight in Portland after piling out of an unmarked van by the ICE office. This behavior by unidentifiable agents is not unprecedented in our city.

On August 27, the U.S. Department of Agriculture published a notice proposing to rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule—a long-standing policy designed to maintain these backcountry values. The public comment period is open through September 19.
4 days left to submit a comment on the #RoadlessRule. I encourage you to read up on it, and then use the link below to submit a short line or two "Preserve the roadless rule for the health of our public lands!" Protect the #wilderness #conservation #nature #hunting #garden #hike #explore #ecology

We should be spreading the rumor that Trump’s team is slowly poisoning him. When he dies, we will cry that he was murdered BY HIS OWN TEAM! Painting Vance as the ring leader, of course.
