This. Collusion isn’t just a binder of “intelligence and weapons for loyalists to kill catholics” it’s sitting back, watching it happen, and deliberately doing nothing - meaning it can keep happening. They can cling to a narrow definition because they know no government on these islands give a damn
It seems to me the evidence of state collusion here and elsewhere is in what the state didn’t do, and hasn’t don’t yet. The killing is one thing, the responsibility to investigate and prosecute another. Delay is active guilt. So was turning a blind eye for two miles in the Armagh countryside.

I would recommend anyone read the Kenova Report published today, especially ps 123-4 in context of the headlines stating there is no evidence of collusion between the British state and loyalist paramilitaries.

The good victim when it comes to targets of the glenanne gang narrative is in this piece. Also, people living here, people I know, who lived through the gang bring active here, knew and know there was a gang, they were not discrete about it. They were neighbours. Saying there was no gang is wild
A review into the Dublin-Monaghan bombings, which claimed the lives of 34 people, has found there was no evidence of collusion on the part of the British state in the 1974 atrocity.

Serial would be better and more accurate. No collusion in the Dublin and Monaghan bombings but also, discovery and disclosure was a nightmare.

Right.

Honestly a bit weird to repeat nonsense Serb nationalist ideas about Kosovo being the cradle of Serbia while also thinking people just got over Kosovo.
My apologies I forgot he was actually just positively quoting Bill Maher, who says that the Serbs and Muslims got over it

Well, at least people might now also realise how scummy the Danes are as well.
this is really grim

It is a fair criticism, though. Someone in mainland Britain who goes around openly considering Northern Ireland or the frameworks that underpin the peace process there is clearly never going to successfully integrate.
Novara Media - who claim to be left wing - seem to be happily retweeting Reform and agreeing with their racism.

Nobody gets to sit and say this about any other murders . It just wouldn’t be acceptable
After the acquittal of Soldier F, former defence minister Tobias Ellwood tells Matt Frei that Bloody Sunday was “one of the darkest days in the British Army’s modern history”, but that a line has to be drawn under what happened.

Ah the aul “appeal to unionists by lip curling at nationalist/catholic/republicans”
Also very sectarian to presume unionists want someone de platformed just because she’s a nationalist, I know loads of unionists from our village who were so supportive of her!!

I remain baffled by people who make it explicitly clear that they don't accept a group as a legitimate minority and then claim to be shocked and affronted when that minority group regard them as holding antipathy/hostility towards them.
Always, without fail, comes down to simply rejecting the legitimacy of a minority demographic.
Every "debate" over minority rights boils down to the same thing: is this demographic a legitimate thing to be in our society, just as good as any other, and whose full participation in that society we seek to facilitate, or a less legit thing whose participation we have no obligation to facilitate?

If a nationalist Lord Mayor refused to go to some protestant/loyalist shite there would be a month long meltdown from the DUP.

This is fine, though, because the DUP are cunts and nobody expects them to do the decent thing so they just don't have to.

Sick of how their shite is tolerated.

It shouldn't need to be explained to anyone, so soon after the Soldier F verdict, why Irish people might not want to be socially obliged to donate to a charity committed to uncritically commemorating all British wars, including Iraq and Northern Ireland, and financially supporting their veterans.

“Sure they’re all mad up there, as bad as each other”
Yeah the education minister and other unionists went on a trip paid for by the state that has created the largest group of child amputees in the world currently - and murdered thousands of others, to rage bait opponents and to create division.

I think people like Paul Givan help betray the panto that NI politics plays in terms of how the murders committed during the Troubles must be held over everyone's heads and then the same people who do that will use their position to go "nyer nyer I'm mates with the genocide crew r u mad lol".

It's not like us to do something stupid years after everyone around us has proven how stupid a thing it is to do, all while we've spent that time laughing and pointing at the Brits and Yanks for doing what we're now doing.

Paul Givan, Northern Ireland's DUP Education Minister, who unilaterally decided to order discrimination against trans kids recently, went on a trip to Israel to visit a school there for some reason.

He was joined by others from the DUP, TUV and UUP.
