Know as an Irish person I shouldn't be shocked but that doesn't change how grimly evil it is

Short of actually making that argument, and short of identifying the actual source of tension or reluctance, all you're left with is some version of "stupid paddy can't look after himself" - which is more or less the thrust of this unfortunate contribution.

There really needs to be a study done on the sort of people who are incapable of understanding why someone would be angry at foreign occupation and military rule and displacement. You did this to them and now you're acting like the victim. Fuck off.

Lads, it's our time to shine.

Unionism in these islands has a tendency to minimise and destroy local cultures, not embrace them.

We're all so similar because we've been subsumed into the dominant culture, often against our will.

'Unionism is actually much more progressive because it's inherently inclusive' is such a tired old line.

Unionists here, even the moderate ones, can't bring themselves to look at Irish on a few street signs without having an existential crisis.

Trains are just better with a saltire on them.

They were also notoriously shit at what they did.

I've always thought that 'big murderous invading army out to destroy you' is actually a very simple concept to understand, really.

That's fine, but acting as though Sinn Fein are THE issue is abject nonsense.
December 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM
Because Unionism is so warm and welcoming, doing all it can to heal the wounds of its horribly bigoted past and take everyone as they are, for the sake of a better future.

Oh, wait, hang on a minute. They're having a fit because they might have to see some Irish on a street sign.

That Iranian lad already knows more about Northern Ireland than most people in the UK.

He'll never fit in there.

I don't know if you've noticed, and most of you clearly haven't, but our government is a bit shite. They're not all that fond of spending money on literally anything at all.

Not to sound preachy or anything, but I think it is worth remembering that Ireland has one of the most pro-Ukraine populations in Europe, and most people here are indifferent or ignorant about our defence situation for reasons beyond half baked notions of Brit bashing.

Not while they have the dourness title. We can't have them getting greedy.
