Excellent argument as to why the USPS should not be privatized.
I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

Our children are learning just how fragile our democracy is and that we constantly have to be standing up to those who threaten its existence. Peaceful resistance brings hope.
It makes me sad our children have never experienced hope like that 😞
It makes me sad to think back on how happy and optimistic everyone was when Obama was elected...

UPDATE: Workers at FOUR of the most important US science agencies have now filed letters of dissent against their leadership.

After initially delaying their letter due to fears of retaliation, NSF workers have gone ahead anyway, and joined their colleagues at NIH, EPA, and NASA in speaking up.

An intelligent and rational approach would be brilliant for the health of the economy and the people. ⬇️
There are 2 economic ideas behind the Trump tariffs. One is obviously very stupid. The other is also very stupid, but less obviously so.

This is very worthy of our attention.
On top of a massive loss of *public* data, this could break a whole lot of websites and apps.
Almost all NOAA Research websites that rely on cloud services - including Amazon, Google and WordPress - are poised to disappear at midnight ET Saturday after a contract was targeted for "early termination." Labs may also feel the effects.

Thank you Senator Corey Booker for speaking the truth! I am so grateful and proud of all those that support his filibuster and our democracy!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.

Trump: Gutting National Parks—And Hiding the Evidence

National parks hit 331M visits, but Trump officials don’t want you to know. A leaked memo bans the Park Service from promoting the numbers—while firing rangers, closing visitor centers, and cutting safety.
