Growing up my friend lived on the same street as Wozniak and on Halloween he gave out full bars and we stanned for him then and we stan for him now.

Good old Woz. Good for him.

Also, if you could apply a gentle electric shock to the seat of anyone attempting to use their phone, that would be great.
Hi there! You guys need better movies, more video games in the lobby, and to not charge $14 for 12 cents worth of popcorn thx

Biology professor whose anatomy exam was solely labeling every part of a larger than life size picture of female genitalia. The graded exams, all 200, were posted along the hall to his office—the hall you HAD to walk to get to his office.
I feel pretty lucky I mostly got through my degree with a minimum of nonsense, but I have one vivid memory of an evening assembly language class I took where I was the only woman, in a building on the edge of campus where no other classes were taking place...
If women are underrepresented in STEM, it's at least partly because men like this offer mentoring, then embarrass themselves by assuming their mentees must be into them, then decide the best solution is to cut ties, which sends the signal to other faculty that the mentee must not be good enough.

I would too, TBH
Thing that rattles around in my head:

Fifteen or so years go I attended a book event for two ghost hunters. One of them just casually said, "As we all know, ghosts can't move anything heavier than a five-pound bag of flour."

I think about this ALL. THE. TIME.

Stunning!
This is easily one of the most beautiful things any human has ever made. Possibly my favorite art object on this earth. Simple and yet so compelling.

Dear god. The eternal question. Look, all of my books have romantic elements. I will NEVER claim to write romance because there’s never a proper HEA. Period. If you lift the romance out, you still have a working mystery. Take out the mystery, you do NOT have a full, satisfying romance.
I see it several times a year. Why is this still an argument?? The genre literally has two rules, and HEA is one. Find another genre that doesn’t include that rule if you don’t like it. Romantic elements can exist in pretty much any other genre without breaking their rules.

TFW you’re 100 pages into your new book and suddenly create a piece of backstory that is SO GOOD but requires a complete rewrite. This is fine. I consoled myself by ordering advent calendars of jam, tea, and French cookies.

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.
