I’m a slut for anything with @iwriteok.bsky.social in it, but Robert Evans dragging Ben Shapiro is always the tastiest of those treats.
New Behind the Bastards 📖

Robert and Cody Johnston sit down to read Ben Shapiro's latest non-fiction book, which seems to be based entirely on him not understanding how lions work.

I’m opposed to child labor EXCEPT when it gets my entire filthy car cleaned out—with everything sorted into trash vs. recycle—for the low low price of “this is a toonie, it’s Canada money, and you can keep all the pop tabs from cans you find” plus an explanation of what Canada is.

I can’t believe I have to point this out but the “affirmative action and inclusion statement” regurgitated at every DFL internal election DOES NOT mean “TERFs, Republicans, and reactionary ***** should fill our leadership roles in proportion to their prevalence in Minnesota as a whole.”

This is the kind of experience that I was referring to when I told Richard Carlbom (back during his pre-coronation “listening tour”) that I feel I can no longer in good conscience suggest that young people who want to organize for a better city/state/world consider getting involved in the DFL.
My statement on tonight's DFL Feminist Caucus Annual Meeting. This statement is being emailed to the Feminist Caucus Chair, Alicia Gibson, and to the State DFL Chair, Richard Carlbom.

This caucus should be ashamed of itself.

Get mad if you need to but then get generous (if you’re able) and get involved!

We knew these PACs would crop up, and we know they’re going to pour even more money into this race now that I’m the DFL-endorsed candidate. Let’s show these wealthy donors the power of grassroots fundraising. Donate at fatehformayor.com/donate.

I totally skipped the “daydream about my future wedding” part of teen girlhood EXCEPT for knowing that I was gonna need buy-in for a Sabbra Cadabra first dance from any Prospective Future Spouse candidate. By far not the *only* reason I’ve never married, but the requirement still stands.

Oh that’s right, the JoeRad ghoul squad just shed its legal skin and emerged in a superficially-separate form ready to gobble up another round of annual-maximum suburban developer checks so they can get back to paying someone to send this dude assorted dumb shit to repost.
My opponent endorsed a Mayoral candidate with views that are out of touch with NE Minneapolis. Based on my conversations with Ward 1 residents, they want common sense solutions to housing, transportation & public safety issues.

Josh Martin is one of the most measured, logical, organized, and non-reactionary people I have ever met. If you’re getting publicly dragged by Josh Martin, you have unambiguously fucked up very badly and your fuckups are extensively documented.
We normally don't air our dirty laundry at the DFL. But since Conrad is a candidate for public office, and now that the conventions are over, I feel it's important to let you all know that Conrad is not fit for leadership. He will never receive my vote again, for public office or DFL office.

All the Freybaby bitches who are pissing and moaning about how tewwibly the caucuses and conventions went but couldn’t be bothered to volunteer are hereby invited to kiss my ass, and you’re goddamn right that I’m going to insist that they form an orderly queue to do it. Show up or shut up.

i cannot stress the 1000s of unpaid hrs a v small crew of good faith dem socialists & allies have put into ELEVEN conventions (not W5 & W13). the amount of FREE labor, skills, job contacts, emotional & mental health the good mpls DFLers have done this yr is unbelievable.

we’ve done impossible work.
The fact that Halal and Kosher meals are over $55 each (!!!), you cannot bring in outside food, and the rest of meals having arena pricing ($15+ each) makes this super inaccessible. This is going to exclude so many folks.

@mplsdfl.org y'all can do better.
YO! Mpls DFL City Convention-goers: definitely read, and share, the Convention info found here. It's at the Target Center; so there are a LOT more restrictions and specifics you should know, re food, entry, etc. Also, share this.: minneapolisdfl.org/convention

Donald Trump walked into the GOP tent and shit his pants like that’s a completely normal thing to do past the age of 3.

Republicans were like
“wow, what an edgy thing to do in public with no shame whatsoever!” and surprisingly few of them got the fuck out of the tent at that point.

In a democracy, public officials—including police—are accountable to the people. Hiding identities shields them from scrutiny and undermines this principle.

this sure aged poorly
From Driver’s License for All to the Rise Up Center, Minneapolis is proud to partner with Unidos MN— a powerhouse for social, racial, and economic justice. As we work to better support our immigrant communities, partners like these are essential.

The request for people to stop shouting from the floor has worked, kind of, but a convention volunteer is pointing out people and telling them to go to the mic. Very punk rock.

My notes say “absolutely outrageous 3-piece suit, black with extremely aggressive inch wide white pinstripes.”

After watching the Zoom, I absolutely *can* believe that the hubris required to take this case would also inspire a grown man to reach for that suit when he needs to Make An Impression
Side note: I cannot believe that Lesch is dressed like a fucking Batman villain. We're not allowed to screenshot Zoom court, but I need other people to back me up on this

Thank you to the bemused @mprnews.org audience services phone guy who answered my call asking if the host *really* just said that the woodpecker attacking cars in Mass. might just be “a little stupid.”

SHE TOTALLY DID but it was a quote from a birdologist so I guess it’s a legit explanation?

OPINION: Don’t Agonize. Organize.
We make this city what we want it to be. But we can’t just complain and wish for a better city.
