One of my deeply held beliefs is that if we could condition people to accept how chance affects their lives, they’d be much better equipped to recognize how systemic things impact them.
We are suckers for agency when we think we can game a system, even where we can't. "I have a system to always win auctions/gambling/stock market..." No you don't, you get lucky sometimes and notice, and then keep chasing that.

"Socialism is not something that can be delivered from on high by benevolent leaders. It is something that must be built from the ground up. That doesn’t mean that leaders aren’t important ...but it does mean that socialist leaders and electoral coalitions have to be grounded in popular power."
"The right wins when people believe that a hero is coming to save them.

If the left is going to win, we have to provide an alternative: one that empowers people through collective struggle, rather than the false promises of powerful men."

“Parents are responsible for their kids internet activity.”

Do you advocate for workers rights and livable wages? How about affordable housing and health care?

Parents have to be able to spend time with their children in order to parent them.

What do you think community building means?

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

Trump got the Social Security Administration to lie for him. I got the email. It was astonishingly political and not true.

He's infecting all government agencies.

Underrated in politics:

1. Saying stuff you actually believe whether or not it is the stuff that polls best

2. Not counting on billionaires to buy you a victory with TV ads

3. Spending time campaigning

Brad Lander was extraordinary in his defense of immigrants. Politicians have their own motivations, of course, but he did the right thing, when so many did not.

He's been doing this for YEARS and not in front of cameras. That's why it comes off as authentic because it's true to what he's been doing all along.

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

Lots of documented evidence proves immigrants, including those undocumented, are significant contributers to the US economy and other institutions. They do the hard dirty jobs to produce American food. In 2022, they paid $96.7 billion in taxes. They hold $299 billion in spending power... ETC!
