Winter has arrived early thanks to winds directly from the Arctic. Some parts of the UK will see significant snow this week, but many other areas will just be sunny.

What were your #Top5Birds or bird moments from the past week?

Mine, in Cambridgeshire:
1. First of year Cattle Egrets
2. Common Cranes flying in towards dusk
3. Big flock of Fieldfare chattering overhead
4. Surprise sighting of a Bittern in flight
5. Huge numbers of Lapwing taking flight

Photographing migrant Short Eared Owls always runs the risk of you getting a mind blowing mid-air image of a female Kestrel (who isn't best pleased about an intruder on her patch), flying up to have a game of tug of war on a Vole, with said Owl...

Good morning, the #BirdOfTheDay theme today is #paddling birds standing or walking in shallow water. The alternate is #yellow birds with any yellow colouring. I’ve went with paddling and this Little Egret. Good luck. #birds #photography #EastCoastKin
