Microsoft Excel also does not understand jokes

Genuinely, it is such a serious problem that academics and media outlets are presenting text processing software as if it could ever "understand" anything. All this does is misinform the public and do supply free PR for tech companies

Researchers say results underline large language models’ poor grasp of humour, empathy and cultural nuance

We south-east Queenslanders have been trying to tell the rest of Queensland & Australia for decades; Pauline Hanson is toxic. JFC, go ask former Qld Nats Premier Rob Borbidge if you don't believe me.

Media, enough now with her nonsense. #auspol

No it isn't. The gov't does not at when they sign on to things: they act when they are forced to through external pressure. Now is the time for *climate and environment groups* to act

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

Where are global CO2 emissions heading?

Middle-of-the-road? But just because we have followed the SSP2-45, SSP4-60 path for 10 years, does not mean we follow it for the next 70 years.

Policy & technology have pushed the world away from the high-end, but 2.7C in 2100 & rising is not a good outcome!

It appears the UK government is not taking any steps to investigate or help investigate Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

With Russia in Ukraine, the UK is giving millions to the ICC to investigate war crimes.

Some war crimes are more acceptable than others.

begging you to ask: why are we doing any of this? Is it to Build More Solar Panels or is it to protect life from the threat of fossil fuels?
