A review of Mary Fissel's book "Abortion—A History", by the Socialist Worker. They recommend the book but criticize her position that patriarchy is the cause of women’s oppression, claiming that it's "class society" that's had the biggest impact on women’s reproductive rights.
Tracing the long history of abortion and criminalisation
Despite a flawed analysis of women's oppression, In Abortion—A History by Mary Fissell widens the discussion around decriminalisation.

Abolishing ICE is the bare minimum.

We need to dismantle DHS. We need restitution. And we need trials.

Remarkable book. Even though Didion speaks from a position of privilege (fame, comfortable wealth, cultural status), her memoir of grief and (eventually) mourning, is entirely relatable, entirely accessible. What a writer! #BookSky💙📚

I've never been a big mystery reader but since I'm apparently a mystery writer now, I figured I should read more of them. 🤷 Not sure this was the best one to start with but by the end I'm glad I did. It was a good read once I got past the first bit where it jumped all over the place.
