Americans can't have nice things -- the nice things they used to have -- because Republicans in Congress gave much of money spent on government employees who give you nice things and instead gave it to Stephen Miller to spend on snatching your neighbor.

Trump will continue to sell out the people that serve this country on all levels from intelligence to journalists so that he can build trump towers in Saudi and Moscow.
President Donald Trump welcomed the Saudi Crown Prince to the Oval Office and defended him against questions about American intelligence reports that found he ordered the killing of a Washington Post columnist.

Imagine being such a cretin. Smearing a man who was brutally murdered and dismembered. Another brazen example of the soullessness of Donald Trump.

Trump has done and said many outrageous things. This is on top of that list.

"Things happen." Exactly what Jesus would have said.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

This is really good article whether you love, hate, or couldn't care less about Wiener. It gives a good sense of what governing is really like. How long it takes, how many valid yet competing interests are at play, and how most observers & participants can only see their own side.
Got a new story up, a profile of CA state senator and congressional candidate Scott Wiener, and a whole bunch of state housing politics and policy—to me, the totalizing political issue right now. Get people cheap housing near jobs and you fix *a lot*. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Scott Wiener defeated California’s NIMBYs. Can he fix America’s housing crisis?
By running for Nancy Pelosi's House seat, he's putting the abundance theory to the test.

Housing crisis about to get worse.
This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.

Well done China! This is climate leadership.
This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
