It's January 31st, 2020, and Nathan Gill is celebrating our imminent departure from the EU.... and that terrible idea of a European Army.

Hmm, now I wonder who else would have been delighted about that.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.

Nigel Farage is unveiling legislation to leave the ECHR.

His arguments are wrong – and that move would be a disaster. @goodlawproject.bsky.social have the facts:

A thing to watch for, discourse-wise, is racism-deniers & facilitators in ‘mainstream’ media trying to detoxify ideas that have been beyond the mainstream pale since the Eighties. The Liddles & Littlejohns openly relish the opportunity that Farage offers them to remove what’s left of their masks.

62% of Brits say that Brexit has been more of a failure.
Many blame Boris Johnson for it.
They associate mostly anger and frustration with Brexit.

Farage reeks of Trump.

Voters are being conned into thinking he’d just do the bits they like and without any hideous consequences.
But no. He’d try to do it all.
(He’s not taken on Kruger cos he’s into women’s rights ffs.)

It would be country-collapsing.

Trump is a real danger for Farage. He used to be very canny about staying within the bounds of acceptable opinion. But his refusal to allow clear blue water with Trump means he's chained to an out-of-control individual, adopting extremely unpopular policies on a whim.
Seems like a pretty good attack line to me
Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Helen Morgan:

"Nigel Farage wants to impose Trump's dangerous anti-science agenda here in the UK. Peddling this kind of nonsense is irresponsible and wrong.

"It seems Farage would rather see pregnant women suffer in pain than stand up to his idol Donald Trump."
