Look, I'm not gonna admit to major crimes on this here "blue sky" thing until I've had at least two more whiskeys in me.
I'm taking a bit of a social media break.

How did the U.S. let Israel get away with widespread horrors in Gaza?

Russ Vought is one of the most dangerous nominees because of his competency. There are plenty of stories about the chaotic evil nominees that will wreak havoc through bumbling incompetency, but Vought is the lawful evil bastard that will break this country with laser-focused intention.
Russ Vought is getting his hearing to be director of the OMB as we speak. He is the most dangerous Trump nominee who hasn't broken through in the headlines.

Project 2025 and Schedule F/civil service purge architect, Christian Nationalist, sword of the dictatorial presidency. Thread:
Russ Vought has been nominated as Trump's budget chief. The Office of Management and Budget is incredibly important, and I have been tracking Vought for years, so here is a primer.

1. If you have heard the term "weaponization" of govt, you can than Vought. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/a-weaponiz...

I am once again reminding everyone that “general” is the adjective in “attorney general.”

Calling an attorney general “general” is like calling an in-house general counsel “general.”

Also reminding folks that when Ted Cruz was Texas solicitor general, he begged his wife to call him “general.”

Just a reminder: Yes, we should celebrate the ceasefire. But no, you absolutely do not have to give Trump credit for the Israel/Gaza ceasefire, if for no other reason than his intentional exclusion and antagonizing of Palestinians with the Abraham Accords helped get us into this mess to begin with.

I think this point needs some amplification. Military force is never an end in itself; it is always in the service of some end. But the mechanism of how to achieve a human behavioral end from a use of violence/force is not straightforward or automatic.
The obsession with lethality indicates either a dangerously simplistic understanding of warfare or an abdication of the military’s side of the difficult process of translating political aims into military tasks.

If I had a nickel for every time Yoon turned his lights off and pretended not to be home until the police got bored and went away, I'd have two nickels. Which is weird because you wouldn't have expected it to work the first time either.
