Should I do what Charlie Kirk wanted, and not give a damn about his death? Or should I care—thus rejecting and negating his whole disgusting shtick?
Extra cozy. 🐆

"It is not about "uncontrollable animal urges." It is about how racial anxieties and obsessions, fantasies of patriarchal domination and control, lead inexorably towards the idea that women and children exist for men's use—including sexual use."

We Need to Talk About Pedocon Theory
The connection between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein is no accident, but reveals a deep logic at the heart of reactionary politics.

Look, for fuck’s sake, humans have been migrating continuously for our entire existence.

Every single human in the world is the product of migration.

It’s what humans do. There is nothing *more* human.

That’s never going to change.

Just grow up, get the fuck over it and plan accordingly.

In a context in which (with the enthusiastic support of the regime) anonymous, masked men (in uniforms emblazoned with bogus identifiers) abduct citizens going about their lives, it is a sad indictment of the opposition that they spend time on social media debating whether it is technically fascism.

AI doomerism is, in many cases, an ingenious variety of AI boosterism.

In fact, the threat is already made manifest. Sociopathic super intelligences, unaligned with human interests, are reshaping governance, infrastructures, cultures, and biomes to suit themselves.

They're called "corporations".

Jeffrey Epstein had 1,571 names of contacts in his little black book.

Fewer than 40 names—just 2.4%—were circled.

Donald Trump’s was one of them.

Epstein had 14 phone numbers for Trump. Fourteen ways to reach him.

If that’s not “being on the Epstein List,” what the f*ck is?

(🧵) This thread from a retired journalism professor who helped usher in the era of metajournalism in the 2010s—and has written a book on the relationship between Trump and Epstein as part of his NYT-bestselling Proof Series—explains how to report properly on the Trump-Epstein Scandal.

Here we go.

"The MAGA faithful fervently pray for mass arrests in which the guilty will at last be separated from the innocent—a kind of secular Rapture." It was fine for Trump and the rest as long as the base thought only Democrats were the guilty ones.
The MAGA Revolution Is Eating Its Own
After years of stoking conspiracy theories, Trump and his allies now find themselves unable to dispel one.

Fun (or not so fun) fact - the author of the “BBC bias” memo is a lobbyist for the American Pharmaceutical Group.

U.S. pharma companies recently threatened to abandon the UK unless the NHS pays more for its medicines.

They also donated millions to Trump’s campaign and inauguration

Absolutely disgusted to hear about the racism Wes Streeting mentions here directed at school children who were visiting Parliament.

He has taken the post down, rightly, to protect the children.

But it's wrong that he had to do it.

Disgusted with so many people in our country. Racism is never OK.

The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

Just absolutely classic BBC. You've just broadcast the most successful programme of the year, uniting Gen Z kids online and Boomers on broadcast in a return to appointment television. And instead of celebrating, your DG reigns due to a made-up right-wing scandal.

Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

Just a thought:

LLMs are undermining the value of social media and search.

Renewables are eroding the value of fossil fuels.

Quantum will obliterate the value of crypto.

AGI may destroy the value of information itself.

Each round of innovation hacks away at its own foundations.

The new neighbours haven't had a chance to sort out their garden yet, so wildlife is having a field day, and so is Bongo the Bengal Cat. In the time it took me to make a coffee this morning, he exited, brought in a live rat, killed it, and ate it. All I needed to dispose of was a tail and a paw.

That WW2 veteran who says that winning the war "wasn't worth it" for the state we are now in is just plain wrong.

Naziism was an evil that caused the deaths of millions and the systematic murder of millions more. Defeating it was necessary.

We need to stop treating every old person as a holy sage.
