We heard folks like their videos vertical so to celebrate two months of campaigning we’re giving folks what they want.

The work is just getting started. It’s time we voted for a Georgia we deserve!

Dick Cheney will go down as one of the greatest villains in American and global history. A primary architect of the intertwined and catastrophic destruction of American civil liberties and Iraqi lives, he was willing to lie to the world to line his pockets. (1/4)

OK. *deep sigh* If we’re really doing this …

If anyone has information about this alleged $130 million “donation” — including the identity of the “donor,” if such a person or corporation exists, and any legal opinions purporting to authorize this — please send it my way. I am at crg.32 on Signal.
New: The Pentagon confirms to CNN it will funnel $130M from an anonymous Trump “friend” toward military pay.

Asked about the donor’s identity and any foreign or domestic entanglements, the WH referred questions to DoD. DoD then referred questions back to the WH

Atlanta has become unaffordable. Rent is too high, we’re decades behind on mass transit, and the wealth gap grows larger each year.

We deserve affordable housing, a green future, and an economy for the 99%.

That’s why I’m running for Atlanta City Council District 2.

Former German President Joachim Gauck recently appeared on national television and, through tears, described how painful it is for him to criticize Israel. Again, it's about: German pain, German history, and German discomfort with breaking ranks. And not about Palestinian suffering.

the more i think about this the more i think that his campaign was a showcase for how centrists *say* they want democrats to campaign. the issue is that what this looks like varies from place to place. i would not expect mamdani to be able to win in virginia, but a mamdani-style campaign could!
what’s funny is that if pro-cuomo centrist democrats were less myopic they might see that mamdani was running the kind of campaign that could help rebuild the party brand — accessible with an outsider persona and a focus on “kitchen table” issues.

Excellent news for the NYC left:

There were 10 city council members of the Progressive Caucus who faced primary challengers today, some of them very ideologically polarized primaries.

All 10 incumbents are leading *by a lot.*

I've been banging this drum for years now, I know, but Zohran's Big Night is a clear illustration of the power of giving people a vision of the future that boldly contradicts the rhetoric of Republican fearmongers. Not just "disagrees on policies," but actively paints a different image of the world.

Remember, this new normal -- in which gangs of masked armed gunmen are causing chaos in the streets, pulling weapons and assaulting innocent people, and no one can say if they're crooks or cops -- was all sold to Americans as a way to make us feel safer.
“In Pasadena last week, a man stepped out of his unmarked vehicle at an intersection, unholstered his pistol and aimed it at a group of pedestrians before returning to his car… That incident left the police chief of Pasadena resigned to figure out whether it was a crime or part of a federal raid.”
'Who are these people?' Masked immigration agents challenge local police, sow fear in L.A.
Local police have little or no insight into where the federal enforcement actions are taking place. In some cases, local cops have been mistaken for federal agents, eroding years of work to have immig...

Elon's involvement in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race cost his candidate around 5% of the vote--even though he spent $25 million dollars on his behalf.

Elon's endorsee ran 5 points behind the other statewide Republican candidate. That's an unbelievably negative return on investment.

Traditional Medicare has VERY little prior auth and rarely denies.
99% of MA enrollees have prior auth, and these plans deny a fair amount.
Trump/Oz/Project 2025 want “Medicare Advantage for All.” What we need to emphasize is that embedded in MA is coverage delays, denials, & administrative hassles
I wrote this based on my JHPPL article on inequitable administrative burdens of appealing coverage denials, incorporating a new interview I did with a doc who reviews claims for a major insurer and who said, "We’re told denying things is OK because people can appeal" www.statnews.com/2025/01/23/h...
‘Rationing by inconvenience’: Health insurers count on customers not appealing denials
Call it “rationing by inconvenience”: Health insurers save money when customers are too exhausted to bother appealing denials.

Trump has signed an executive order eliminating all funding for diversity and inclusion in the federal government, sending home DEI staff who will then be laid off. The historical echo for this is when Woodrow Wilson resegregated the federal government in 1913. We have reached the second nadir.
