Anyway, if any editors felt like commissioning some pieces or giving me a column of some kind, that would be pretty cool!
Hey everyone. This is officially the last month that UPROXX will run the Best New Indie column, which also makes it my last month as a contributing writer. I’ve had so much fun getting to do this for 1.5 years. I’ll still be freelancing, so please send any opportunities my way.

If I were a Democrat, and I saw Trump do a purge of high-level generals who were women and people of color and wouldn't be "yes men," I wouldn't vote to advance JD Vance's college friend for Secretary of the Army.

And yet....16 Democrats just did so

A good thing to do if you are flailing a bit right now (as who is not??) is to get in touch with your own values, the things that you find life affirming and necessary in the world. Read some inspiring works about things you value - labor solidarity, scientific achievement, social justice.

if at this point you still trust, respect, and like the democratic leadership, you are a god damn fool and i have no respect for your ideals
I legitimately hate the current makeup of the Democratic leadership

As someone who’s watched him positively destroy rural Santa Barbara County, this is my new #1 fear for the impending presidency
i feel like most americans still haven’t wrapped their head around elon musk having control over the govt after the election.

now they have to contend with him controlling it *before* the new govt is sworn in?

am betting most find it hard to even comprehend this moment tbqh

At the risk of losing relationships, need to get this off my chest:

I think New York style pizza is absolute trash garbage and would rather go hungry than eat another floppy greasy chemical-cheesy piece of it

Thank you and goodnight

What’s worse is how much LESS accessible it’s making news — at a time when it’s so important for the opposite to be happening! The amount of Boolean operators required to track down any single piece of coverage for my clients is frankly ridiculous.
it's honestly wild how useless google has become. i used to be able to dig up ANYTHING from the internet, now i can't use it to find websites that i fucking know exist.
I asked Google “what is the opening line of Toni Morrison’s novel Song of Solomon?” I know it roughly but I wanted the exact wording.

Google now inflicts AI responses on all searches. I was startled by just how incorrect the AI response was. Like, my god. Is this what people are using????

Every day is Shut The Fuck Up Friday. Don’t see shit. Don’t say shit.

That includes sharing pictures published by the cops. Not good practice. Don’t aid state surveillance.

solidarity with the writers on the receiving end of this profit maxing. the people who have been riding the profit maxing train are nearing the end of their reign. they will be big mad about that but they could, and should, have made better and less selfish choices over the last 40ish years.
