I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

Sad news. The Longest Crawl (mentioned on a recent @deserterblog.bsky.social podcast) is a terrific read, particularly when describing what happens after getting a car boot-full of freebies from a pork scratchings factory…

This image of The Slits by Terry Lott is apparently from a 'Photoshoot At Home Of Band Member In New Cross'. I've seen it dated from 1981 and 1987, former seems more likely as they split up in '82 - for the sake of my completist SE14 obsession, does anybody know who lived where?

So my dad is home and on the mend after 61 days in hospital following a stroke. I am very glad, but it feels a bit odd now I am no longer doing daily trips down to the far end of Dartford.

Maybe not the main point, but perhaps Ofcom should think a bit harder about YouTube.

Imagine your kids asking what you did in the face of the rise of fascism and you can’t even tell them that you stopped using a website. Pathetic.

Despite the two billion quid blown on a new road tunnel on the way, it’s still one bus and two tubes to get to Leytonstone, which is as exotic as it gets for me at the moment.

35 years ago in November 1990, PSB released “Being boring” as the 2nd single from their 4th studio album, “Behaviour”. The song was inspired by a party invitation from Neil’s Newcastle days which quoted Zelda Fitzgerald’s line “She was never bored, mainly because she was never boring”.

Nice of some PR people to send pictures of scantily-clad women to @greenwichwire.bsky.social - every little boost helps right now - but on what planet they think a site that covers Greenwich issues would be interested in a Battersea burlesque show, heaven alone knows.

A game I rarely tire of: comparing the anti-BBC opinion in certain newspapers with the TV recommendations in those same newspapers. Sometimes it comes together so perfectly.

I know nothing about Dr Who, but, for Londoners, the phrase "Going For Dinner With Billie Piper" is the absolute best way to remember the order of the vertical streets running east to west in Soho (Greek, Frith, Dean, Wardour, Berwick, Poland) and has saved many a late night out

We lost Tom Barry (“Boris Watch” from the other place) ten years ago today. I should go to the pub with copies of Private Eye and Modern Railways in his honour.

Some thoughts on the passing of Tom Barry (@BorisWatch).
I shouldn’t be writing about the passing of someone just a few months older than me. My first feeling when I heard about the death of Tom…
