that happens mostly because they end up winning awards they don't deserve, not because stupid hipsters hate all that is fair and good
I hate the online reaction cycle that praises a piece of art a lot and uses it as an example of what’s good about the medium but then the moment it gets awards or enough acclaim or fandom, suddenly we have to talk about how it’s actually not really that good and it’s overrated and always sucked

thing about graphical realism is that a lot of the games that cynically chase after it don't care enough about the visual language of film they are trying to copy to make the realism actually interesting let alone work in games. something as basic as colour palette and scene framing is a good one

I just don't think it necessarily deserved all 9 of its awards, and a couple of the wins were downright ridiculous imo.
Ppl that genuinely get mad & annoyed at E33 getting those awards are funny to me. You have a small studio's first game with no day 1 DLCs, no microtransactions. Affordable price, AAA quality and... ... you get mad? There's a standard that could be set right now for the industry, and you're mad. LOL
