In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Stories like this are just the tip of the iceberg for evangelical churches. Children are told that speaking about the crime is worse than than the crime. It's the patriarchy protecting its own at the expense of children.
Leaders of a Minnesota church community didn’t report a parishioner they knew had sexually abused girls for year.

They told his victims that once sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never speak of them again.

Truly chilling, from @jlussenhop.bsky.social & Andy Mannix

Public washrooms are a gender equity issue, a healthy aging issue, and ableism issue…
Reminder that #OttCity ph1 LRT only got 3 washrooms at 13 ph1 stations; 2 (each end) forced on city by prov and 1 at Bayview due to advocacy; 1 was added at Line 2; AFAIK there are none added to rest of ph2; most are closed more often than open. This is a gender and equity issue. 1/

It's hard to overstate how extraordinary it is that Quebec City could be considered a bike friendly city, but the changes made in the past 4 years have been radical and fundamental, and I couldn't be more proud of my city.
These things are always hard to measure, but the Copenhagenize Index ranks Montreal as the 15th most bike-friendly city in the world.

Top 5 in North America:
1. Montreal
2. Quebec City
3. Vancouver
4. Portland
5. Minneapolis

I worry we’ll fall in the next few years though!
