This event was tremendously interesting. A mix of art meets Aufklärungsarbeit with cherished colleagues @danielsiemens.bsky.social and Thomas Weber among others bringing their research to bear on the danger of the AfD for Germany.

if you want to know what happened to Teen Vogue yesterday, my work wife @allegrak.bsky.social — who ran our politics section for 6 years until this past June — said it all in this.

can't even pull out a favorite part til I sign my separation letter lol, just read the whole thing.

Friends in NYC, consider coming to this event in 2026. Suzanne Keen (Scripps College), Irene Kacandes (Dartmouth) and I will discuss how to make sense of the intensity of emotions in these times and what we can learn from the arts to help strengthen our democracies.

Really great podcast featuring Birkbeck media scholar Rob Topinka on how we might be inadvertently platforming far-right talking points even when we think we are doing the work of opposition.

What I loved most about working with folks in extremism prevention and anti-hate initiatives on the ground was they weren't *at all* interested in calling anyone out.

Instead, it was like "what are we going to do to make life liveable for at risk people?" and "lets find ways to do this together."

I'm excited but a bit sad to announce that I've left Bellingcat to start a nonprofit investigative outlet focused on the far-right. We're called Decoherence Media, and we're launching today.
Welcome to Decoherence Media, an independent nonprofit founded by @jennefer.bsky.social and @tristanl.ee that investigates authoritarian and anti-democratic movements using open-source and data-driven methods.

Thrilled with the evening event. @milleridriss.bsky.social was brilliant, we had 200+
folks, and there were tons of good, difficult questions about misogyny and hate and the far right extremist pipeline.
