Wow!! Neil Young and Norm Ornstein in high school together!?!?! (Happy Birthday, Neil!)
Happy 80th birthday to my friend and high school classmate Neil Young. What a remarkable, incomparable talent. Across so many genres with so many unforgettable songs. Plus, he is a patriot of courage, moral force, and commitment. And a really good guy!

On the upside, The Situation Room is now just a pile of dirt where the East Wing was.
This is atrocious.

Um, I think Sen. Kelly notably just didn’t hear the question. Given the loud banging and background noise in the Capitol over the question, it’s more than likely he simply didn’t hear it through his single IFB earpiece (which doesn’t block background noise). I wouldn’t read too much into this…
Mark Kelly notably declines to endorse Chuck Schumer as the leader of Senate Dems going forward

Fond memory of seeing the film as Opening Night at the Athens Film festival, in French with Greek subtitles, just after I took an AirChina flight from Germany. I was exhausted, and couldn’t understand the dialogue. The script was in English??
Page One: “Rust and Bone” (2012), screenplay by Jacques Audiard, Thomas Bidegain, short stories by Craig Davidson

Read the screenplay here.

The problem with sanserif fonts on social media: I thought this said “AI [artificial intelligence] Hirschfeld” - which probably is a thing by now…
And Al Hirschfeld!

Five yrs ago today in my role as head of Voter Protection for Biden-Harris in Phila, at right about this moment, I was reaching out to our team to figure out who could sneak into a hastily-called press conference by Rudy Giuliani at the Four Seasons Hotel ... and then, what, it's going to be where??

I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

Remember when Sarah Palin thought Africa was a country not a continent…?
Trump: "For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what's going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what's going on. Look at South America, what's going on. You know, we have a G20 meeting in South Africa."

“Defense team presses Lairmore” is a panini just waiting to happen…
The defense team presses Lairmore on whether the sandwich really 'exploded.' They return to the photo of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.

My assumption is that the New York Post has better sources inside Heritage than most other press outlets. One tidbit of note: Princeton's Robert P. George, a Heritage trustee, is said to be pushing fellow board members to oust its president Kevin Roberts. Hope he succeeds.

If your newspaper is giving Donald Trump softer headlines and gauzier coverage than People Magazine, that should be a bit of a wake up call.

I knew Sen. Thomas Eagleton. Sen. Thomas Eagleton was a friend of mine. And this “definition” of the War Powers Resolution is not the one Eagleton helped write into law.
Trump admin's apparent theory that if US forces aren't in harm's way then there are no "hostilities" for WPR purposes creates a huge hole in the law given the nature of how US uses military force.

And a further power grab by the executive w/r/t Congress's control over the use of military force. 4/n

Full disclosure- Jeanne Kirkpatrick- once a prominent Heritage Foundation voice - almost ran me over in a DuPont Circle alley. She just glared at this casual pedestrian who dared cross her path. No remorse. I wasn’t a fan before and definitely not after.
1. A watershed moment.

The President of the Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action, Kevin Roberts , has announced that the organization is standing by Tucker Carlson in the aftermath of Tucker’s interview with neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes.

This isn’t Kevin bending his knee to Trump…this is something new

Why I don’t make "films" anymore…and neither should you.
We make multiyear, community-based performance art projects. And that's OK!

Why did Indiana University attack and cut its own student newspaper?

Well, in a twist of irony any English professor would call clichéd, it turns out IU did it because they were angry about the students' reporting on a FIRE report naming IU as the worst public university for free speech in the US.
