I do biomedical research to help people. When people come in this space making things up, it makes it harder for people not in the field to trust the extensive studies that we do and distinguish fact from fiction. Baseless claims reduce future cures. Willful ignorance drives us backwards.

Violet Affleck is to the Covid movement what Greta Thunberg is to climate. Both represent the next generation, are articulate, focused, & grounded in science. That scares people. And there's a gendered aspect to all the vitriol they face

I pay my taxes and I don’t get healthcare.

I pay my taxes and schools are four days a week.

I pay my taxes and my road is gravel.

I pay my taxes and they close my hospital.

I pay my taxes and then pay for college tuition.

I pay my taxes and don’t have access to a library.

Oooof an acquaintance just described her kid having COVID, then “three more episodes of fevers but nothing else. Probably just bugs”.

No, lady, that’s COVID rebound and if it is still happening after a month that is very likely long COVID.

I hate what we’re doing to children.

Why didn’t some of the Epstein survivors speak out earlier? “I thought someone was going to kill me,” one explained.

As another asked, “Why did the government work so hard to protect Jeffrey Epstein and not victims like me?”

When people say "We used to drink raw milk from our own cow and it was fine,"

That's... usually not the case!

In families w their own cow, the mom usually boiled it before using.

We just forgot bc that's a boring chore that mom did. And who pays attention to that?

This 🧵 is long so please bear with me. It is compiles evidence in a historical timeline on how effective #COVIDVaccines are. When a pandemic ends we quickly and easily forget the tools that got us out of it. So here is my labour day gift to you prompted by this headline.

This should be the lead story in all major national news outlets. Public health people prefer to stay out of the limelight unless there is no other choice. I can’t overstate how bad things have to be for 9 former CDC directors to band together and pen an op-ed in the NYT warning the entire country.
9 CDC Directors going back to 1977 speak out. What RFK Jr has done to our nation’s public health system "should alarm every American."

It "is unlike anything we have ever seen at the agency, and unlike anything our country has ever experienced." www.nytimes.com/2025/09/01/o...

RFK Jr. likes to wax nostalgic about how “healthy” America was in the 1960’s. He bases this on one datapoint, the prevalence of obesity.

But let’s dip our toes into reality. In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now

mRNA vaccines are one of the most important tools we have for preventing future catastrophic pandemics because we can update them more quickly than any other vaccine technology in response to new emerging viruses & variants.

RFK Jr cancelling millions in mRNA research makes the world far less safe.

Just to reiterate, the FDA director claimed to *personally* know of *multiple* people who died from mRNA COVID vaccines, and nobody has asked him anything else about that. These cases have never been reported in neither the medical and scientific records, nor literal death records.
When people lie this badly it is so easy to just be like “wow, tell me how one of the people you know died from a vaccine,” bc it’s obviously a lie & he won’t be able to answer bc it’s a lie. I’m not sure why nobody does that to these people? The tiniest amount of pushback would make them fall apart
Pure antivaxx propaganda at this point.

the reason they’re so mad about normalizing a genetic condition which cannot be prevented or reversed is because they are eugenicists

It’s important to discern & communicate this nuance because if you don’t, you might encourage elected officials to ban masks for everyone, which would be a public health disaster.
