Okay, I acknowledge this is a very boomer take, but I stumbled on a clip from 1984’s The Natural, and honestly when was the last time films looked that good? Like I know we can do lots of cool shit with VFX now and everything, but damn, we’ve lost something.

Toronto has not figured out how to be a major city. We were supposed be a second-rate declining rust belt town until Rene Lévesque got elected.
It’s insane that within just a few weeks, two of Canada’s major cities opened polar opposite transit systems.

A couple disparate things that I’d like to see a journalist thread together:
- we know AI hallucinates. Like really badly, making up entire articles and research papers
- AI bosses are closely aligned with the Trump administration. They are likely using AI tools.
