I've just heard that a number of US based research databases (such as PubMed, etc), have started returning results of searches that include terms that relate to DEI that are missing references compared to previous, similar searches.

This might seem small, but it's digital book burning.

So, I don't think the UK should have a monarch, however since we do, it's good to see him being put to work properly.

Anything you need, President Zelensky?

How about a quick helicopter trip to Norfolk and a cosy photo op with Charles?

No problem, Mr. President.

Why is there a witch hunt against Rachel Reeves?

Rishi Sunak who was also Chancellor literally made his fortune in the financial crash at everyone's expense 🤷‍♂️

Inflating small indiscretions beyond all measure of proportion, that's toxic

Is this really the type of society we want to live in?

Good bye Berlin, it's been a really good week, although a bit hectic. Currently on a train for the next four and a half hours, which will take us most of the way across Germany.

So, @katherinedeane.bsky.social and I are in Berlin, ready to present at the Berlin Institute of Health later in the week. Yesterday we got off the ferry at 7am, and got to our hotel about 6:30pm, changing trains in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. A tiring day, but feeling a lot better this morning.

The German attacker was anti Muslim, pro Musk, pro Robinson & pro AFD. He carried out attack hours after Musk tweeted an endorsement of the AFD. No suggestion of a direct link but Musk as with his “civil war is inevitable” tweet regards the UK riots appears to find himself supporting the far right.
Elon Musk endorses the AFD. A far right German party whose members have been accused of being anti semitic, anti Muslim, anti same sex marriage and advocating “old gender roles”. Musk is arguably the second most important person in the west.

We’ve seen confusion around the government’s decision to supposedly classify porridge as “junk food”—banning it from online ads, and TV commercials before 9pm.

Only certain types of porridge will be affected by the ad ban, and plain porridge won’t be.
The UK government hasn’t classified all porridge as ‘junk food’ - Full Fact
There is a two-stage process for defining a “less healthy” food or drink product. Although porridge is “in scope” of the legislation it would also have to score highly on the Nutrient Profiling Model.
