It’s finally happening!!
This was surprisingly complicated to code, but water elementals now have a whirlpool ability that pulls you (and items and other monsters) toward them.
(And you can be hurt by colliding with a wall or monster, etc)
Not 100% happy with the spiral animation though

I made a tiny, baby project in Rust at work that's maybe 400 loc total and I'm already rolling my eyes at the "Start compile, go make a sandwich effect"...
Also, is Rust the most verbose, boilerplate-heavy language ever or what? (I'm sure Ada is even worse don't @ me...)

lol, I posted about how I disentangled the code for picking what glyph to display? Turns out while fixing it I'd simultaneously broke the ability to save games and introduced a lighting glitch...

this afternoon at work I had some time to kill after hitting a roadblock in the thing I really needed to work on. (As in, I gotta wait to hear from a vendor) I decided to spend a couple hours on a lower priority project that I thought would be a decent thing to try Rust on.
