The image shows a small medieval-era metal badge in the shape of a cat carrying a mouse in its mouth. The cat has a long body shown in profile with head to the left. It’s head is turned towards the viewer. It has upright pointed ears and a stylized face which looks somewhat human with eyebrows, round eyes, and a snub nose. From its mouth hangs the body of a small, limp mouse. Carved lines on the cat’s body represent fur. It stands on four thin legs, all attached to a narrow scroll-shaped base, inside which is written the inscription YI SIS MUS / Behold the Mouse. The S's in the inscription are reversed. Mould-made from lead-alloy. Length 2.54 cm. British Museum collection.

Yes. Eight years of PiS scandals that would have sunk any previous government firmly disabused me of any notion that there is some moderate current in the party’s elite or their electorate which is going to place decency above partisanship. They ride these things out. It’s simply what they do.

Voor #ElkeDagEenInsect een dode mier van Borneo; slachtoffer van een Cordyceps, een entomopathogene schimmel. De parasiet dwingt de mier naar een hoge plek te klimmen en zich daar vast te bijten, zodat de sporen zich kunnen verspreiden naar andere slachtoffers.

Digital flyer titled “Fight Chat Control,” warning about a proposed EU law affecting digital privacy. It announces that the Law Enforcement Working Party has approved a revised Danish compromise that reintroduces mandatory scanning of private messages under the term “risk mitigation,” including end-to-end encrypted content. Article 4 also bans anonymous communication by requiring age verification for all users, threatening the safety of whistleblowers, journalists, activists, and vulnerable individuals. Article 6 imposes restrictions on minors, preventing them from installing apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Roblox due to grooming risks—described as “digital house arrest.” The legislation now moves to Coreper for approval. If passed, the Council and Commission will jointly enforce mass surveillance across all 450 million EU citizens. The flyer urges public resistance and louder protest against the erosion of privacy and freedom. Dated November 12.
