You got ultra religious people as Ministers and a fringe minority party full of conspiracy theorists and this is what you get. They are in a symbiotic relationship based on hating queer people.

Puberty blockers are safe and proven - the THIRD PARAGRAPH acknowledges that children WILL still be prescribed them, just not if they're trans

This is an attack on trans children, full stop

This government does not care about children, full stop
The Government is banning new patients from being prescribed the most common form of puberty blocker and is explicitly aligning NZ's future policy on this matter to the UK's. PR below.

Some readers might guess what happened next — I sent a collection of photos showing how the cargo bike helped with the move.

If we're serious about managing congestion, mass transit is the only way to go. Light rail to the airport. Bike lanes. Frequent and cheap buses.
The answers are all there. And more roads isn't one of them.
Extra roading means more congestion, not less. The evidence is unequivocal.

Sharing this again just because I love it so much. #justaminute

Car drivers who block cycle lanes for “just a minute” force people on bikes into car traffic. It’s dangerous, it’s selfish, it’s illegal (NZ) and it deserves the mocking it gets in this protest action.

So we’re back on this NZ managerialist cultural tic of ‘I’m comfortable managing my own conflicts of interest’.

Councils around the country who lost walking and cycling infrastructure because they don’t have access to a minister who can override the process should be apoplectic.
NEW: Chris Bishop used housing money to fund a bridge in his electorate his own Govt had killed off.

Officials were against the move and Labour say he shouldn’t have been anywhere near the decision.

Chris Bishop diverts Kāinga Ora money to fund a bridge in his electorate
Officials warned against the use of housing funds for bridge building but Bishop says it was a “pragmatic choice”.

My kids’ school has NOT yet sent out a letter reaffirming its commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Before emailing the BoT myself I want to re-read the candidate statements of the newly elected BoT members. I recall a candidate who talked about the treaty “where relevant” or something. 🙄

Hoooo boy is this accurate. All of it.

But I love this bit: “…it isn’t bitterness. It’s clarity.”

#coffeeneuring Ride #6 9km

So our toasted sandwich machine died as did a reading lamp so we thought we’d combine Ride #6 with shopping for replacements.

#coffeeneuring Ride #5 6km

The thunderstorm delayed our ride until 4pm today so in true NZ style the first and second cafes we stopped at had already shut. Gah!

A nearby Coffee Culture (which is always open until 9pm) saved the day!

We barely made it home before the sky opened up again.

People would go wild if MS or lupus were airborne, but Covid is airborne, and it can reactivate EBV, which is linked to both. It’s biologically plausible that we’re seeing more MS- and lupus-related illness after widespread airborne viruses. So mask up 😷

If COVID had made everyone stink instead of air dangerous, every school would’ve fixed this by 2021.
