Superman is a Kansas Populist, FDR supporting Pro-Labor Methodist. In his early books he fights corrupt landlords, greedy bankers/CEOs, the Klan and Nazis. This schoolbook cover from 1948/9 was made for the tolerance movement to fight racist and fascist ideas in schools. #Superman

How does the copywritten part of ORE interact with the Creative Commons part? Do words like "width" and "height" fall under your copyright? I failed looking for guidelines on your site beyond the CC license, and the CC is a bit vague about how much one has to notate changes.

Department of Defense Law of War Manual, Sec. 18.3.2.1 states the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders.

What’s its key example? Wait for it . . . It’s "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

The reality I struggle to explain to the youths about the 80s -
That dude with teased hair, eyeliner, hot pink spandex leggings? Incredibly homophobic, sexist, pick-up artist and future Trump voter with a 'guy yelling in their car' social media account, a powerboat and a domestic abuse charge.

The presence of Palantir and Dataminr at the new U.S. military compound in Israel offers a glimpse of how tech companies are cashing in on the genocide.

So question for the #ttrpg #fantasy homies that maybe know the answer - why is there such a consistently great quality of Spanish/Latino/Hispanic fantasy/genre artists? Is it something I've made a false correlation out of? Broader acceptance of the art style in their media?

We WANT corporate Dems to just become Republicans. If we're stuck with two parties I want them divided along economic policies, nothing else. Two parties where the majority of both agree that everyone deserves civil rights regardless of race, gender, orientation or religion, that it's just assumed.

As the Democratic leadership realizes that the majority of the party is far to the left of them, they will retire and leave, but not before sandbagging, derailing or killing populist measures as one last gift to their donor class patrons before they enter the private sector. Expect it.

Fellow Gen-Xers this morning I realized that the world has gotten much worse since we, as a generation, stopped looking forward to a dope Juno Reactor remix on a movie soundtrack.
Also I want a retirement community that has an abandoned warehouse where we can congregate to dance and do drugs.

The key to the GURPS #ttrpg is restraint. You make a setting, you pick a power level, you allow players to only choose from a curated list of advantages/disadvantages. You add more granular rules from the different sourcebooks where you want them and ignore those that have no use for your campaign.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Yet another unique way to stimulate cellular immunity against cancer.

“Using the gut immune system to induce cellular immunity is a unique approach,” Shirakawa notes. “And it should be very easy to extend it to other antigen proteins and also infectious diseases.”

Random nerding; my biggest problem with #Superman in films is that Krypton has become this cold/crystal/ice planet and earlier depictions (in #comics & Timm's #DCAU) are of a verdant, thriving world with cities and soaring towers, giving a sense of a civilization destroyed before its time by hubris.
