Love the comments on this. Can we please have a true progressive candidate for governor in the next election?
Cutting property taxes for Oregonians affected by wildfires. Canceling planned freeway tolls. Pausing local new taxes in the Portland area. We have to keep going to make life more affordable for Oregonians.

Interesting to look back at this post from Sep 2025 given the recent TN house seat election.

Average swing toward Dems for 2025 relative to 2024 presidential is now 13 pts (down from 16 in Sep).

TN election was same as current avg, 13 pt swing from 2024. Love that this spreadsheet stays updated!
result in VA-11 special election tonight is a 16 percentage point swing to Democrats vs 2024 — right in line with the average swing in all specials held in 2025 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

Just canceled our paid Spotify subscription and are switching to Apple Music (higher quality sound anyway 😊).

We will not support a company that runs ads for ICE or that supports ICE in any way.

Spotify is running recruitment ads for ICE.

A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force.

But we’re not going to idly accept that. We’re going to make Spotify listen: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify

Trump is VERY unpopular
Donald Trump's approval rating in our tracker has fallen to -18, the lowest it has ever been (lower than any point in his first term) www.economist.com/interactive/...

State and city police arresting and charging *anyone* who breaks state laws seems like a no-brainer to me.

Since when do federal agents have immunity from state laws? Can you imagine giving a whole class of people carte blanche to break state laws?

So if the govt shutdown continues, eventually many federal workers working wo pay will call in sick in large numbers, esp air travel workers. That wld effectively shut down air travel in the US.

Cld that be an ideal time to start a general strike?

Beautiful, peaceful, and HUGE #nokings protest in Providence yesterday. We marched from the Statehouse through the city and back to the Statehouse. The "river" of people marching was so long it formed a complete loop miles long. Rhode Island SHOWED UP in defense of our democracy.

Beautiful video showing #nokings protests around the country, from big cities to small towns. I am filled with hope.
There are more of us than there are of them. Thank you for a truly historic day of peaceful protests across America. #NoKings

Just looking at this map of #NoKings events for this Saturday gives me hope. There are SO many events. Can't wait to march with my friends and neighbors.

Important: The share of counties hosting at least one anti-Trump protest has risen markedly during his second term, surpassing spikes observed during his first term. And the current protest movement has reached deeper into Trump country than during the first Trump administration.

As organizers for No Kings 2 seek historic turnout on Oct. 18, the broader pro-democracy movement has already broken new ground.

I love this new development and it fits. Progressivism has always been better at humor (e.g., Colbert, Fallon, SNL, Daily Show, ...) because humor must have at its core sincerity, truth, irony, and vulnerability - all of which are anathema to MAGAism. We are stronger when we embrace our strengths!
@lauren-egan.bsky.social: "As the country careens into a succession of crises brought about by the hand of Donald Trump, it’s semi-shocking to see Democrats resort to humor as a primary form of pushback."

We must all be witnesses in this moment. This is a criminal regime breaking the law, harming people, and instilling terror. There must be consequences for these people to make sure this never happens again. We know nothing will happen at the federal level rn- can the state prosecute?
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Wow, Republicans must be terrified of releasing the Epstein Files. What are they hiding?
Adelita Grijalva won her election fair and square.

Now House Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to swear her in because she would be the final signature to release the Epstein files.

Mr. Speaker, respect democracy. Obey the law. Swear Representative Grijalva in immediately.
