In the long arc, anything we ever do will eventually be just a story. New stories will settle on top of them, like sedimentary layers. I think we like to imagine future travellers will dig them up, put them in places of honour.

I’m encouraged by these town halls but I also remember very clearly how this happened in 2017 as well. Instead of responding to the complaints, they stopped doing them.

The concentration of wealth among a select few hinders economic growth. An ideal economy would ensure that wealth is with those who contribute directly to its functioning, like workers, educators, and entrepreneurs. This is why we need UBI.
