I expect that consumer-facing AI programs will continue to improve and they may become much more useful tools for everyday life in the future.

But I think it was a disastrous mistake that today’s models were taught to be convincing before they were taught to be right.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Protests aren’t the only tool in the anti-authoritarian toolkit, but they’re incredibly important. Protests help us see each other; they make it feel safer to refuse to obey the dictator, and make it more possible for us to organize mass non-cooperation.

It’s an essential step in the process.

You are fundamentally misreading the moment if you think Democratic voters give a single, solitary shit about bipartisanship. We want to throw Republicans out in the street, not ask if they’d like a comfier room.
This is the Dem's vision for confronting Trumpist fascism *in their own* [press release] words:

Whitmer “will outline her bipartisan approach to bring supply chains home from China, create more good-paying jobs, and invest in our defense industry.”

Save Education
Stop the book bans
Save the Earth
Stop these eugenist freaks
