We're going to beat them by fighting for a world full of joy, full of weirdness, full of wonder.

And yeah, echoing Elias, it's gonna be cringe, and that's great.

Bluesky you deserve some fireflies in a cornfield. Not pictured-the young hawk chased away by robins, the enormous kale after the rain, the smell of the tomato plant leaves.

Talked to so many people who were at the first protests of their lives today. Ex-Republicans, introverts, 90-year-olds and 3-year-olds. This was at an intersection in a 60,000 person town. Haven’t felt hope like this in my life.

Just sitting here remembing one of my favourite 'one-on-one' writers I met with last year, who was a very intense ten-year old girl who had her whole novel outlined on her Dad's old work laptop (that he gave her in self-defense -- listen, this kid was v. cute but also A LOT) --

16min dwg. Last daily drawing of this month. Still reflecting on perfectionism. maybe for some it isn’t so much about being perfect as it is not being process savvy, prepared and supported when mistakes happen. Or maybe it is about anticipation and letting go, knowing it’s safe. To know and unknow.

They are just disappearing people off the street. Having a hard time thinking about literally anything else.
Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

Hey, here’s a tip. If you’ve ever thought to yourself, poison dart frogs are cool, I’d like to try keeping those but I don’t want to die from poison: rejoice! When raised in captivity they are completely non-toxic (they get the poison from bugs they eat in the wild)

ME: I'm sorry but horror movies do nothing for me. I just don't scare easily.

DATE: Omg really? But did you ever see Saw?

ME: Yeah, but as long as it doesn't go too high and you hold on tight, it's fine.

God I hate the fucking word limit. The rant I want to go on about Mcarthyism being their generations' reaction to "wokeness". You have a recent history of union wins, women and bipoc taking up white men's jobs following decades of immigrant worker growth (many who were too radical for their country)
