To be fair, even in history class that era was pretty glossed over and more of a vague: „ McCarthyism was a time when they went after who they thought were communists, and it looks like they didn’t get anywhere with it.“ but I also lived in a red state and we had a section on people of the bible.

Was reading Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov for a reading challenge and it is based in 1952, the early years of it. Decided to go off and learn about it more in depth.
Yeah it really is just the „red scare“ all over again.
