Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.
My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

I walked home to the 14th St Station one rainy evening and I heard a familiar voice. Looked up and saw Willem Dafoe on the sidewalk leaning against a brick wall of a pizzeria scarfing down a slice. I ignored him and went on my way because that's New York babyyyy
