I'm delighted to say we have won the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education with our work on OpenSAFELY, inventing new methods that let researchers analyse NHS GP data while protecting everyone's privacy, and with complete transparency, in a hugely productive platform!

School libraries are so important. In Ireland school libraries have not been annually funded since 2008.
A lot has happened in children’s books and in Ireland and the world in all those years.
They need access to contemporary books!
Bring back school library funding!
Every school & every community needs a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers. Those are the books that will change their lives - and maybe even save their lives! #libraries #librarians #literacy #booksky

I’m telling you all again…

…we could get a massive brain gain in Europe from all this if we play it right. 🧠
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion
The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

Hi! Quick note: The Onion accidentally posted a stock photo from a vendor with an AI generated image in it. We pulled the post down once we found that out. Our commitment to not using AI is very real. It's in the union contract to disclose it if we ever do. World is a slop minefield and we're sorry.

If Trump can go after Denmark like this - don’t think he couldn’t or wouldn’t do the same with Britain. Let’s hope he doesn’t take a fancy to the Falkands or - more likely - some of the British territories in the Caribbean: the Cayman Islands, for eg.
