It’s fair to say, after 16 months, Philippe has flopped. You can have that one for free #Rangers

@barryglendenning.bsky.social Morning Barry. Never wanting to be “that” guy, but I’m probably about to be. Marcus Tavernier at Bournemouth and Rangers’ James Tavernier are brothers. But when you talk about James, you call him “Travernier.” I heard you pronounce Marcus’ name spot on yesterday

I’ve always been intrigued by the new Champions League format and I have to say, I like how it’s panned out. Playing eight different opponents gives almost a “cup final” feel to each game because you don’t get another leg to turn around any deficit there may be against one team.

If Ruben Amorim somehow turns things around it could attract the attention of bigger clubs, such as Sporting Lisbon

I’ve never been a fan of James Corden but I have enjoyed Gavin and Stacey and watched them all through the course of the month leading to last night’s finale, which didn’t disappoint. Sure you knew how it would probably end, but a great finish to a terrific show. Well done 👏

While it’s easy to have a pop at VAR, you need to consider that VAR did its job in having the referee look at Dan Casey’s incident again. It’s the ref who still got it badly wrong. Decision should always fall to ref on the park so not VAR’s fault. Motherwell right to be aggrieved on this one

How FIFA are making an unattractive tournament even more unattractive. Dynamic pricing is an out and out scam
Tickets for FIFA's Club World Cup have started to go on sale. Dynamic pricing - where ticket prices will rise as demand increases - is being applied to tickets, so fans may pay significantly more than the originally set prices.

One thing I’ve noticed in Man City’s slump of late is the amount of mentions that they let Cole Palmer go to Chelsea last year. It didn’t get mentioned at all last season when City were winning. Nonsense point for me

And yet people were frothing at the mouth over a foreigner in Thomas Tuchel taking over the England team. There is simply a dearth of top level English coaches so something is going wrong somewhere.

Oh and technically, Russell Martin is Scottish 😉
Following Gary O'Neil and Russell Martin sackings today, there are only 2 English managers in the Premier League.

🇮🇹 Serie A, 16 Italian managers
🇪🇸 La Liga, 15 Spanish managers
🇫🇷 Ligue 1, 10 French managers
🇩🇪 Bundesliga, 9 German managers
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 PL, 2 English managers

An absolute bin fire of a club. Long may it continue
£22m to sack ten Hag and then bring in Amorim, some kind of pay off for Ashworth seems inevitable here - all while Man Utd try to hike prices, and lay off staff, because of a billionaires whims.

Truly a symbol of modern football 😬😆🙈

What goes on off field seems to say more than what goes on on it
£10m compensation- waited longer for him to take up the job than he was in the job - this is why Ratcliffe has to put his hands in the pockets of those who go to the match - inept. Hilarious.
