FYI I *always* want to hear about the abortion plotlines on your tv shows — a character considering an abortion, having an abortion, talking about a past abortion, or discussing abortion as a political / cultural issues.

If I don’t have it already, I’ll put it in our database! abortiononscreen.org

The future is terror

Romney is a guy who was spending $5K a day on security because of threats. Here, he is concerned not just about his safety but that of his extended family.
Question: Why is Romney resisting pressure to endorse Harris?

Answer: Terrorism.

the predictable results of a bunch of Haitians immigrating to live in a small Pennsylvania town:

1) the town gets somewhat more Haitian
2) the Haitians get dramatically more Pennsylvanian

this just really isn't that hard
Trump is now smearing Haitians in the small town of Charleroi, PA in truly vile terms.

But the town manager tells me everything Trump is saying is a lie:

*Haitians aren't taking Americans' jobs
*No 2000% population increase
*No uptick in crime

Trump’s Hateful New Rants at Rally Are Harshly Debunked by Town Leader
In western Pennsylvania, Trump made one of his most savage anti-immigrant appeals yet. But one local official says it’s all a lie.

Vance is not the first politician to absolutely lack charisma but unlike Romney, whose anti-charisma could be genuinely strange in a funny and occasionally appealing way, Vance just seems like he holds you in total contempt.

what you have to understand is that for a certain set the true sin in political journalism is to actually care about stakes and outcomes. an unethical relationship is small potatoes compared to taking the game seriously

We talk a lot about Trump's role in accelerating violent fascism among the right but I firmly believe that a state that willingly murders someone they know to be innocent such as in this case is signalling that they are willing to murder any of us as long as there's some sort of legal process for it
MO Supreme Court denied Marcellus Williams’ request to halt his execution. Governor Parson has also declined to intervene. As of right now, the State of Missouri plans to murder an innocent man at 6pm tomorrow, Sept. 24th. It’s a textbook case for eliminating the death penalty. This is just so sad.

seconding this and i’ll also add that there was a point where the justices might clarify that they aren’t “his,” but these days they have all but said that they will jump however high trump wants them to
I don’t care that it’s old news, I don’t care that his supporters don’t care, I don’t care that this is just how he talks. A presidential candidate saying that people should go to jail for their opinions about his political allies should be a five-alarm fire in the discourse.

Hypocrisy is a primary fascist virtue, an intrinsic component of its core virtue, which is dominating the lives of others with violence and abuse.

People forget (or maybe never knew this). Russian hackers were hacking Hillary targets right up until election day.

One of the--BY FAR--most compromising hacks lasted much of September 2016 as hackers took snapshots of her turnout analytics, hosted on AWS.

We still don't know how they used that.
