When I wrote my camps book, people sometimes had difficulty understanding how concentration-camp regimes were proud of what they were doing and wanted attention for it, even as they also hoped to keep many aspects secret and terrorize vulnerable classes. Anyway, this is what that looks like.

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

And if you're feeling *really* jazzed to support libraries, get on their board of trustees. Or speak to whatever entity (city, county, council, etc) funds/oversees them and advocate on our behalf.

Don't just say you love us! Find out what we need (my system needs more staffing, have for years)
1000% this. Public libraries are actually pretty radical--free to all, and based on the idea that info should be available to all. Get a library card! Use your library! Those numbers often play into their funding.
I also keep thinking that we have to support our libraries.
