We have 3 years before we burn through the carbon budget for 1.5°C

World leaders promised action in 2015. Since then:

🔥 Record fossil fuel use
🌲 More deforestation
📈 Rising emissions

This isn’t a lack of solutions. It’s a lack of will.

is it time to bust out my "bigfoot is bears" photo collection again? if your mental image of a bear is a thick-furred, fat glossy male bear in autumn, you're probably not prepared for how weird their proportions can look in spring, or when walking upright, like they frequently do.

Traditional US allies need to reject this effort by a declining power to carve up the world into two separate spheres so it can maintain its dominance in one of them. Instead, they should reduce their dependence on the US and build bridges with the rest of the world.

🙄🙄🙄🙄: me whenever I hear driving associated with 'freedom'.

It's only ever freedom if other forms of mobility are restricted, unsafe or impractical.
They tore up Quebec City's tranways in the late 1940s to build highways through the downtown and today the buggest municipal fight we have is to bring the tramways back. Our biggest opponents? Car lot owners.
did you know that the automobile companies were the ones behind the death of the mass streetcar movement?
