In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

Doug Ford ordering the city to get rid of one of the few things that keep car owners in check because the drivers don't like it is so on the nose it's practically up in it scrambling his brain around like an ancient Egyptian undergoing mummification

It's only ever freedom if other forms of mobility are restricted, unsafe or impractical.
They tore up Quebec City's tranways in the late 1940s to build highways through the downtown and today the buggest municipal fight we have is to bring the tramways back. Our biggest opponents? Car lot owners.
did you know that the automobile companies were the ones behind the death of the mass streetcar movement?

I know there are a lot of public health experts in the US, who will say that ensuring most Americans have health care is actually more complex than just drafting a law that grants "universal health care".

... so the solution is to make *our* goods more expensive for *your* importers.
