Over 5 years, this government will subsidise private landlords' income by over £70bn - that's more than six times the affordable housing budget (£11.5bn).

The govt is asking MPs to vote in a new four-point PIP eligibility criteria this week.

Wes Streeting suggests here a DWP PIP assessment review could reconsider that.

If this is so, the govt should press pause and not ask MPs to rush through the welfare bill.

The Labour government has entered into a £500m, 5 year deal with British Steel to provide at least 337,000 tonnes of rail track.

It will supply Network Rail with 80% of its needs and secures continued work for British Steel in Scunthorpe, supporting jobs and the wider industry.

Good point, well made!
Some in Labour HQ may want to reflect on this - here’s a policy which has drastically improved air quality, benefitting the poorest citizens. But Starmer’s LOTO started criticising it because a couple of Clarkson bigmouths complained in focus groups & they (wrongly imho) blamed it for Uxbridge loss
Still, opposing it did win the Tories the Uxbridge by-election and encouraged Rishi Sunak to slow down on net zero, so....
