Abolish ICE.

There’s no reforming it.

There’s no compromise.

There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

60% of Americans have a chronic condition. Among people over 65, it's 95%.

Saying most of our health care spending goes to chronic conditions is just another way of saying it goes to health care.
Dr Oz says being healthy is a patriotic duty

Worse, he says they spend 70% of Medicare & Medicaid funds on chronic illness & aren’t “getting their money’s worth”

This is the quiet part said out loud.

They don’t want to cure chronic illness, they want us to take the blame. They don’t want to pay.

Honestly, I know of no such blatant case of political imprisonment & infringement of political speech in the USA in modern times. Maybe there are going back decades, but this was deeply shameful, from the moment masked men unjustly kidnapped her, stuffed her into a van, & locked her up.
Finally. My fellow Fulbright Scholar Rumeysa Ozturk has been freed.

My country jailed her for over a month as—let’s be perfectly frank—a political prisoner. Why? Because she wrote a mild oped that criticised Israel in her student newspaper.

I've thought of her every day.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Legit the best thing any Dem has done to date in response to Trump and it happened because he cared more about serving his constituents than public polling about immigration.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

I read so many stories like this every day, we live in a completely insane time in tech history. Generative AI is the thing that has revealed how many useless managers are in charge
My company forced us to use GitHub Copilot as some kind of efficiency measure. I spent a good three hours today trying to tweak a couple lines of code while it gave me confidently wrong suggestions on what to do. I finally gave up and found what I was looking for on my first Stack Overflow hit.

Disappearing people to avoid the jurisdiction of the court in which they were taken by the state is authoritarian to the core and runs afoul of the spirit of Article III, the Due Process Clause, and the principles that emerged from the Glorious Revolution and the American Revolution. Arbitrary rule.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Look, folks, this is it. The entire ballgame. Either we're a Republic of laws & the Constitution, or we have a dictator. This is fascism, & the impeachment vote should be happening today. Every single university president in the country should be out, in front of microphones, condemning this.
Trump takes credit for Mahmoud Khalil's arrest by ICE:

Really good analysis of how the Supreme Court striking down campaign finance laws got us here. This podcast is great in general, but this episode is really worth a listen given the current moment.
This week’s episode is McCutcheon v. FEC, where the Court held that aggregate limits on campaign donations are simply a bridge too far.

Ain't good. Compared to Senate Dems, House Dems have less leverage. One exception is the budget fight. But here's the Dem House Leader TODAY declining to use that leverage.

If you have a Dem rep, ask them to use their leverage. And tell them to tell Jeffries to lead.

Stay tuned - more to come.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
