Because the white voting electorate in this country is racist & illiterate & needs it repeatedly spelled out how Republicans don’t care about them ahead of elections & can only understand it in brief spurts if they suffer too while the hyper online need to learn how to blame a Republican trifecta.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
