Today’s Russian papers on Trump/Greenland: “Europe’s at a total loss. It’s a pleasure to watch.” Government paper: “Europe doesn’t need the American greatness Trump is promoting…the Old World's keen to keep Greenland for itself, even at the risk of Nato’s collapse.” #ReadingRussia

I tried to put together an update of the status of the Russian strategic forces. My estimate is 575 launchers/1530 warheads (can "upload" to about 2100). It appears that R-36M2/SS-18 has been withdrawn. Website: russianforces.org/blog/2026/01... Substack: open.substack.com/pub/russianf...

John Phelan just re-nuclearized the surface navy by saying the Trump class will carry nukes

That's utterly bonkers.

Happy bunny, or happy Alphan, the limited edition gold Eagle transporter celebrating the 50th anniversary of Space 1999 arrived.
It's number 1969 of 1999.
It comes with its own display case too.
Photos don't do it justice.

60 years ago today, an A-4E Skyhawk carrying a 1-Megaton B43 H-bomb during a weapon loading exercise rolled off the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-14) about 70 miles off Japan’s Ryuku Islands, landing upside down in the water and quickly sinking to the bottom of the ocean, killing pilot LTJG Douglas Webster.

Today in 1964—during a routine attempt to troubleshoot and repair the security system at the Lima-02 Minuteman I ICBM silo three miles southeast of tiny Vale, South Dakota—the reentry vehicle and its 1.2-Megaton W56 warhead violently separated from the missile and fell 80 feet to the bottom.

The thing is, this photo is apparently something people are texting around. We wanted to use it, but couldn't find who to credit, so we linked to @kendilanian-nbc.bsky.social and his reporting.
I wish you’d been able to include a photo, because your description, while accurate, somehow fails to do justice to the reality.

This is extrajudicial execution, without any clear threat to the US, no authorization from Congress, and far beyond even Article II. The military is not the president's personal hit squad.
Or wasn't, until now.
