NCAR manages the Wyoming Supercomputing Center, where researchers from other institutions have access to high-performance computing resources (most recently Cheyenne and now Derecho) to model weather, climate, wildfires, air pollution, etc. Everyone is less safe if NCAR is dismantled.

One day when Trump leaves office there will have to be a massive effort to rebuild the capacity and competence of the government. Brain drain at DOD, State, FBI, FEMA and more probably looks like this.

If they don’t catch this guy, more potential shooters will think they can get away with it and there will be more shootings.
