👇🎯 Periodic reminder that the right-wing career/salary talking points about the liberal arts are belied by huge piles of data (e.g., news.wisc.edu/new-data-on-...), & the complicity of Democrats & university administrators in repeating those right-wing talking points is a major part of then problem.

A "Woke" Military Actually Won World War II
President Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth decry how 'wokeness' affects the military, but that idea is based on misunderstood history.

This is not something I want to do, but as someone who was food insecure for a long time, here are some ways to get the most out of what you can get.

I have said this before, but eliminating programs that teach a lot of students but don’t have many majors is like a restaurant not buying flour in its grocery delivery because people aren’t ordering flour on the menu.

In these difficult times building community, and support for each other, is extremely important. That’s why I’m holding community dances around Vermont.

We just had a great event in Hardwick. People of all ages danced the night away.

The NEH's return on investment is incalculable, especially for rural communities.

Calling a representative takes so little effort. Please do it. Don't let them turn off the lights without a fight.
Hearing similar from ... folks who would know. Call your representatives.

Blueskis, I am hearing rumors that DOGE is at the NEH building.

- They will fire 50-70% of staff.
- Almost all open grants since 2021 will be closed.
- Almost all NEH Grant programs will be eliminated.

Note: this has not yet been confirmed.

What is confirmed: DOGE CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES.

Listen, Broligarchy is not some cute synonym for oligarchy. It's genuinely different & WAY more dangerous.

I'm a sociologist who's been studying the ultra-rich globally for 17 yrs, entering their world as an offshore wealth mgr. Published 2 books abt them.

🧵Broligarchs are distinct in 3 ways:
There’s a sort of Trump apologist, a relatively small but loud subset, who probably don’t realize or intend to be, but are so attached to a previous hyperbolic claim that they deny anything important changed.

-US was already an oligarchy
-US was already fascist
-Biden gave Israel a blank check
-Etc
