I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

I'm currently reading "The Ogress and the Orphans" by @kellybarnhill.bsky.social and idc that it's Middle Grade, everyone should read it. It's a story of love and resilience, and oh, yes, MAGIC! It's 100% relevant to what's happening today, and if you need some hope today, here it is! #read #resist

I believe that is why the X-Men are different from the Avengers or whomever.

There’s all the love and joy, but almost no one shows up at the door unscarred.
Some of Gambit's inner monologue in this issue is so reminiscent of my own...experience. Reading this was as enjoyable as it was challenging at times. That top left panel before it cut to underwater... I'm almost upset that my favorite X-man is more relatable than ever, for his sake lol

Evergreen reminder that people aren’t putting drugs in Halloween candy.

Not only is this not a thing, it’s a distraction from the real issue - vehicles. Cars hitting kiddos. That spikes every Halloween night. Watch your babies, talk about safety, and go with them to keep them out of the street.

When I turned 25 I was legit deeply concerned that I had not yet written The Great American Novel, now at 56 if I could time travel back to meet that young fellow worried about not having birthed a True Work of Timeless Art in his first quarter century, I would, lovingly, turn the hose upon him
I need to hear this as a late 20-something who's worried that if I haven't had a solid career since 18, my life is pointless.

I will always set that post-apostrophe s, and I think that wasting brain cells over whether it's called for (or not) because of pronunciation, or antiquity, or whether it's a Tuesday or a Thursday, is a waste of time.

And "the princess' crown"?

Like, do you not pronounce that "princess-es"?
