I went ahead and decided to use ollama to run Deepseek R1 locally on my hardware. I feel as though limiting oneself to a local LLM removes the risk of the "out of sight out of mind" effect of ecological impact that large LLMs are causing, particularly water usage. Been vaguely helpful, sometimes.

Here from FB, I'm unsure how much I'll enjoy a twitter clone since I much prefer tight knit communities over feeds and public posting. Going to set interactions as followers only in a vague "friends only" parallel.
