I've known this guy my whole life
While the controls are eeeever so slightly stiff, I gotta say — RE5 has aged flawlessly. Shockingly gorgeous for being nearly 20 years old. Easily some of Capcom’s best work, artistically. Incredibly balanced stylized realism that helps it withstand the passage of time better than its contemporaries

Next stop on the lore bus: Lost in Nightmares. Hadn’t played this in at least 10 years and like… god damn this is genuinely great? BEAUTIFUL environments, haunting sound design, it really feels as close to REmake as the series has gotten since, atmosphere-wise anyway. Mff that baked in lighting tho

RE lore run continues. Infinite Darkness is more or less what I remembered it being. An ambitious attempt to add some moral grey areas to the previously very black and white storytelling of RE that doesn’t quite stick the landing. Also Claire has nothing to do and probably shouldn’t have been in it.

Lore run caught up to Resident Evil: Degeneration. One of the best things about the movies is how they’re able to dedicate time to the wider politics and the state of the world in RE in a way that the games just aren’t able to. Getting learn about non-combat organizations like TerraSave is great too
