I don't want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me.
Nice audio essay on the AI DoorDash problem @reckless.bsky.social! Listened to a few of the other interviews you cited 🤌🏾 The "Software is becoming labour" quote is an intriguing one and has some connotations that I'm not necessarily sure I agree with.

Turns out both DownDetector and DownForEveryoneOrJustMe use Cloudflare so are currently, themselves, down

It's also seemingly affecting the other place which we shall not name..
Anyone seeing a Cloudflare outage atm?

Ooh haven't been here in a while but already loving the age verification feature. I think every platform ought to have it in this tidy way. Nice one blue sky 👏🏾

A House of Dynamite was a pretty scary watch. My favourite part: the lack of a resolution. I see that many folks didn't like that but to me that was the most powerful thing about it.

I hope they all know that no party stays in power forever.
In my time in the Senate I've never seen a Senator treated this way. @padilla.senate.gov is carrying out his constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight and defend the people he represents. Absolutely shocking and disgusting way to handle a sitting member of Congress.
Wow. California Sen. Alex Padilla is wrestled and detained by federal officers after showing up to DHS Sec. Kristi Noem's press conference in LA. (video from Bill Melugin of Fox News)

Was a great listen! @reckless.bsky.social always seems to talk to the *right* people with wisdom to impart.
I had so much fun talking to @reckless.bsky.social about how private equity is killing the American dream. For everyone who isn't quite sure how VC and PE are different, or who suspects PE running hospitals might be bad, this one is for you!

Still thinking about this sign I saw at the Nigerian embassy while waiting to renew my passport earlier this week, and it truly encapsulates the experience of dealing with Nigerian bureaucracy 🤣

I’m struck by how close we’re getting to finally curing some of the world’s worst diseases—sickle cell, Alzheimers, pancreatic cancer, etc.—at the same time that the world’s worst people are destroying medical research and care around the world.

The current criminalisation of speech in Nigeria is more than a little worrying. I hope well meaning Nigerians will lend their voices to arrest the slide.

Good to hear Dr Maduekwe speaking up so passionately but would have been even better to read of her concrete plans for building a coalition that not only encourages donor countries to up their offer but seeks to get Nigeria and the global south lead on setting the climate change agenda.
